Okay, so I was thinking it would be fun to try to design a class based on the incompetent minions Villains always get in TV shows and stuff. That is, they're horrendously incompetent at nearly everything, but sometimes they get lucky. It's still early stages, so I'm just gathering ideas, but here are some initial thoughts for class features:
I'm not sure if I'll make this an NPC class, a regular class or a 'prestige' class. It will depend a lot on what abilities you can think up! Please post any suggestions or feedback here for this!
- Whenever you need to make a d20 roll, you can choose to roll twice and take the lowest result. However, any natural 1s are treated as natural 20s.
- You take a penalty to skills equal to your class level. However, if you manage to make the negative DC, you succeed (with possible side effects). Later iterations to increase the penalty for skills of your choice?
- All your clothes warp to give you a red shirt at all times, and you are prone to being hit/damaged/killed. But, you get free 'reincarnates' to bring you back with all your gear (you just look ever so slightly different each time). Probably a higher level ability.
- Ability to teleport to someone when they call for you (A designated 'Master'?)
- Can sometimes provide the perfect item for a given situation, but often is something irrelevant or useless. Scroll of fireball to blast the monsters, or a poorly written declaration of love instead of the peace treaty.
- Extra good at running away!
