To encourage activity, I'm thinking of making a "House" rule that will allow exchange of Activity Points (which you get for making posts) for in-game bonuses.

It will of course take a little lot of tweaking, but I'm thinking about something like this:

20 AP -> Heal 1 HP
100 AP -> Replenish lv 1 Spell Slot
250 AP -> 250 gp worth of goods
500 AP -> Raise Dead cast on your deceased character.

Let me know what you think of the idea.

(Also, if you get to a certain Reputation value I may offer you a unique rank/title)

Yeah, I'm thinking the values should maybe be a little lower for some of them. I think the official Pathfinder Society play has some examples that I could probably adapt...

They use things called Prestige Points that you can use to buy things. After a typical session (which should take 4 hours live), you get either 1 or 2 points, depending on how well you've done. Since this is a forum and things take rather longer, I might say that 100 points of activity score is the same as one Prestige point.

Anyway, the list they use, being converted into activity score is:

+4 on any one skill check............................100 AS
Dispel Magic.............................................100 AS
Lesser Restoration.....................................100 AS
Remove Blind/Deaf/Curse/Disease/Paralyse......100 AS
Free Purchase up to 150 gp.........................100 AS
Atonement...............................................200 AS (800 AS to restore class abilities)
Break enchantment....................................200 AS
Greater Dispel Magic...................................200 AS
Neutralise Poison........................................200 AS
Restoration................................................200 AS (400 AS to remove negative level)
Free Purchase up to 750 gp..........................200 AS
Regenerate................................................300 AS
Have your body recovered by rescue team......500 AS
Raise Dead................................................1,600 AS
Greater Restoration.....................................1,600 AS
Resurrection..............................................3,200 AS
True Resurrection.......................................7,700 AS

And just to be mean, they say it costs an aditional 500 AS if you buy it outside a town of population 5,000 or greater.

I think, based on this, that perhaps 50 AS gets you a cure light wounds, replenishes a lv 1 spell slot or gives +1 on any check (all regardless of where you are).

Sound more balanced?

well, even 100 AS seems a lot for me :S
one question: if you use any of this things, will you loose your AS when using them?

i always wanted to ask that there is possible (later) to change feats? if yes it wouldve been cost AS ?

Consider that you've got 27 AS and got that in 4 days. If I dropped things much more it'd be game breaking. I hope you understand.
I'd certainly consider adding activity score for bring new people to the forum. Basically, Activity score being a system for rewarding people who are more active on the forum.
You lose the AS once you've spent it (To prevent people being overly wreckless).

I'm happy to give you infinite redos to fiddle around with at first level. This does NOT mean you can redo to suit any situation during this time. After level one, you can tamper your new abilities after the first combat encounter after each level to give you chances to test your new skills/feats/spells. Otherwise, changing feats/skills/spells will require... 250 AS?

sure, i understand it just seems a lot for me yet :D it just a bit weird for me that i gain points for posts and i can spend em :D

awesome :) i just discovered that there is a rogue talent which gives the weapon finesse feat and i already choosed that feat. but i think ill keep it as this because there are a lot of better rogue talents than that one.

well i dont know but it seems ok :D (i mean the 250 AS for changing)

Been reading one of the Pathfinder suppliments, Mythic Adventures (PRD link), and thought that some of those things might make a good reward for exceptional activity scores.
Since they are stupidly powerful abilities, I'm thinking like 10,000 AS should cover it. That gives you a Mythic rank of One, although it can be increased as normal. Otherwise, each 10,000 AS counts as 1 mythic mission completed.

Activity score is begining to build up now, but, at the moment, there hasn't been anything spent. That'll probably change soon, especially since people have hit 200 AS, which is enough to get a "Happy Stick" aka wand of cure light wounds with 50 charges.

We're nearing 1,000 total posts as well, soon! I'll give a special AS bonus based on your number of posts as thanks when it happens. I'll remember to include myself this time... I'm going to get Crazy Stick enough Mythic Ranks to be a Divine Source, so people can worship him and be considered a Deity.

There's a spell called Reincarnate that can be used to revive dead people. However, it has the slightly awkward side effect of not necessarily putting you in the same body you started out in. You might change from an elf into, say, a kobold. Potentially risky, but it's a lot cheaper and easier to get to than raise dead.
So, I think I'll include it as an option for things you can buy using AS at a price of 1,000 AS.
Notably, it is now feasible for you to come back from the dead quickly, albeit in a different body.

I have not been here long, but it seems like I will not have enough Activity Points to use these things. Do you guys post more often on some days? I try to check frequently, but most days it seems like very little to respond to. I'm not complaining though, it is a fun idea, I just am not sure if I am missing something.

Well, the fact that you joined an already started campaign means youll have a little harder time to catch up (in activity score), but I think you don't have to worry about it. We had an event, where we got some extra AS based on our currently AS. This event held 2x so far, thats why we have that much AS, and I belive Quark will do these kind of events in the future :3

Yep, I'll put out another one when we get to 2,500 post (which is very, very soon)

I always forget this. I would have otherwise for sure used it in the last fight against that gnome/kobold.

Since it's been a bit oF a problem:

You may no longer use activity score For other people.

Also, a reminder that unless speciFically stated, the cost oF all buying is increased by 500 iF you are outside a decently sized city.

A note on how activity score is implimented in game:

The system I'm basing this on is part oF the PathFinder Society's Organised Play. You're a member oF the PathFinder Society, and as you do things For them, you get to be better known within the organisation. People start oweing you Favours, and you can call in these Favours as necessary.

Since you aren't necessarily part oF a society or group in quite the same way, the activity score is roughly a gague oF how generically interested the Gods are in you. IF you do enough things, some god or other will have enough oF an interest to give you a handy little giFt.

Which is, oF course, why it's more expensive out oF town. IF there aren't any clerics handy to do their work, they've got to do it themselves, which is enough oF a bother that you'll need a little more credit built up beFore they'll do it.

By way oF comparison to their system, you should gain between 300 and 600 activity score per level For a character. Since Activity Score is Forum based, you will get substantially less per level when you do it live, unless I run events.
